Sheriff investigates social media threats against owners of dog breeding establishments Spring Green | News

SPRING GREEN (WKOW) — The Sauk County Sheriff’s Office said it is investigating threatening correspondence on social media aimed at the couple seeking approval for Spring Green facilities to breed dogs for medical research.

Jill and Clinton Kane seek approval for their kennel project they hope to bring to the area. The dogs will be used for medical research, according to the Kanes.

A Sauk County committee on July 23 approved a conditional use permit for a larger facility in the town of Spring Green where the dogs will be raised after being weaned from their mothers.

However, earlier this month, the Village of Spring Green refused a conditional use permit allowing the Kanes to use their home as part of their ranching operation.

The sheriff’s office also said it is aware of a protest planned for Aug. 10 at Kane’s premises on Big Hollow Road outside of Spring Green.

The Dane4Dogs group plans to introduce ordinances in the Village and Town of Spring Green that would effectively prevent the facilities from operating.

The City of Spring Green Board of Directors at its Aug. 1 meeting will discuss the ordinances, according to the meeting agenda.
