Part A Part B
£370 plus veterinary fees based on an hourly rate (including travel time) if required 1 star and 2 star establishments:
£217 for a 1 year Licence

3-star and 4-star establishments:
£339 for a 2 years Licence

5-star establishments:
£461 for a 3 years Licence


Part A covers the application and authorization process. Part B is the cost of administering and enforcing the framework. Both fees must be paid in full (along with any veterinary fees) before the license is issued.

Example

A business applying for a home boarding license will pay £370 for the application (Part A). If they get a 3 year license (5 star establishment) they will pay an additional £461 (Part B) to cover the administration of the license making a total of £831. Veterinary fees (if applicable) will be charged additionally. Whereas a business that gets a one year license will pay £587.


Organization of the provision of a boarding house for dogs at home

The star rating of a franchise is determined by the star rating of each homestay combined.

Keep or train animals for exhibition

All licenses last for three years.

Dangerous Wild Animals (DWA)

£658 for a license, which must be renewed every two years.

Veterinary fees will be charged in addition to these fees and are based on an hourly rate including travel time.

Zoological parks

£830 for a license, which must be renewed after the first four years, and then after six years for each subsequent license granted.

Veterinary fees will be charged in addition to these fees and are based on an hourly rate determined by DEFRA, including travel time.

Fees must be paid in full (along with veterinary fees) before the license is issued.


Other expenses

  • vet fees will be charged (if applicable) based on an hourly rate plus travel time

Request for re-inspection (for all types of permits)

Advice and pre-permit visit

  • £50 initial fee then additional depending on agent time

Additional fee for additional licenseable activity provided by a company on a site

  • £96 for each additional activity (in addition to the appropriate Part A fee and the corresponding Part B fee as above)
